High-Impact Sports Bra Checklist: Bounce Is Data
Updated August 2026. “High support” on a product title is marketing. High-impact means the band is the hero, cups hold tissue separately or with serious compression, and you can jog in place without rewriting your posture.
Seamless packs are fine for studio work — verify the band before you trust them for runs.
Band first
On the loosest hook, the band should sit level and feel firm. If it rides toward your shoulder blades, go down a band / up a cup. Straps are adjustment, not the engine. Measure with our bra guide.
Longline styles add torso stability for HIIT and longer sessions.
Encapsulation vs compression
- Compression presses tissue to the chest — good for smaller busts and yoga.
- Encapsulation holds each breast in a cup — better for larger busts and road running.
- Hybrids exist; read the cut, not the buzzword.
Try the jump test at home: two soft jumps should not move the band.
