V FOR CITY Shelf-Bra Tank Review: Cotton, a Scoop, a 4.1
A shelf-bra tank is a shirt that does not want you to wear a bra. V FOR CITY sells a black cotton scoop, wide-ish straps, jeans in the still, seventeen dollars, six thousand reviews, a 4.1. We already reviewed the Hanes shelf cami. Same job. Different neckline, different QC lottery. The 4.1 is people who thought a shelf was a sports bra.
Shelf means a layer of cotton and elastic under the bust. Light hold. Small-to-average. Fuller busts will meet gravity and write the review. The scoop is modest. It is not a V henley. It is not a Dellytop shirt without a bra.
The shelf is a suggestion
It holds a shape. It does not pin. Removable pads, if your colorway has them, are a lighting trick and a washing-machine escapee. Straps are wider than spaghetti and still not UA. Size for the bust first — too small and the shelf is a sausage casing; too big and it is a tank. Black hides construction. White is a bra-showing event unless the shelf is padded and you are lucky.
A scoop, a shelf, a 4.1. Not a sports bra.
Versus Hanes, wash
Hanes is the name and the return. V FOR CITY is the Amazon scoop that photographed well. Cotton pills. Skip the dryer. Check the Size Guide like a tank, then like a bra. If you commute, try it with a jacket before you retire your underwire.
Who it's for
Errands, a weekend, a layer under a shirt. Not the gym, not a full bust all day, not a $17 miracle. If Hanes is in stock in your size, that is still the boring correct answer.
Pros
- Cotton tank with a real shelf, not a printed lining
- Modest scoop that behaves in public
- Price of a layer you might actually wear
- Black hides the shelf
- A step up from a henley with no bra at all
Cons
- 4.1: the shelf is not support for a full bust
- Pads escape
- Not a sports bra
- White is a transparency gamble
- Hanes is the safer name for the same job
A $17 cotton tank with a shelf. Size the bust, hang it, wear black, and keep a real bra for the days the shelf is a rumor.
