Avidlove Lace Babydoll Halter Teddy Review: The One-Piece That Doesn’t Fight You

A halter neck on lingerie is a gamble. When it works, it does that flattering thing where it lifts everything and frames the shoulders; when it doesn't, you spend the evening readjusting a strap that keeps slipping off your neck. The Avidlove halter teddy is one of the more popular versions of the style, so I wanted to know which camp it falls into — and whether it's comfortable enough to actually keep on.

The answer, mostly, is the good camp. The halter tie is adjustable and wide enough that it distributes the weight instead of digging a single line into the back of your neck, which is the usual failure mode. The lace is soft with a bit of stretch, and the bodysuit has a snap closure at the bottom, so it stays put when you move. That last detail sounds minor but it's the difference between lingerie you wear and lingerie you adjust.

The cut is a babydoll-teddy hybrid — a loose, flowing lace panel over a fitted bodysuit underneath, so you get the coverage of a babydoll with the structure of a teddy. It's flattering without being unforgiving, which is a nice middle ground if you're not looking for something that clings to every inch. The lace overlay gives it a softer, more romantic look than a plain bodysuit.

Downsides are what you'd expect at this price: it's delicate, the sizing runs a little small in the bust, and the lace is hand-wash only.
